We thank PEDIGREE Foundation for their continued SOCA support – most recently with their donation to help us save triple our usual number of dogs during the pandemic.
In addition, PEDIGREE Foundation gave us $10,000 to support our new Transport program. Their generous donation will be used to build out the transport van, recruit and pay drivers, and cover travel expenses.
The van will transport dogs and cats from Ft. Bend Co. to adoption events in other parts of the country, where rescue animals are in higher demand. The Houston greater metropolitan area, including Ft. Bend Co., is saturated with homeless animals in need.
Currently, we rely on outside transport companies to move Ft. Bend Co. animals. Without our own van, we’re only able to move up to 3 animals a year. With our own van, we can save an estimated 120 animals a year.
