Become a Foster
Our foster program provides loving temporary homes to animals before being adopted. Every day more and more dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens need loving foster homes. By providing a temporary home, you will help us support them until we find them a loving, permanent home. That can mean kittens too young to be adopted or an animal needing time to recover from an illness or injury. The length of the pets stay can range from just days if they are included in a transport or months until a forever home can be found.
Before You Foster:
-Any existing pets in the household of the same species should be spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and on monthly heartworm prevention.
-All members of the household agree to the addition of the new family member, and you have sufficient financial resources to care for the pet.
-Verify that you have no restrictions regarding the number or type of pet you wish to adopt placed by your landlord, homeowner’s association, city of residence, or homeowner’s insurance company.
We organize and ask our foster to attend several events each month to give these animals exposure to potential adopters. Many times the foster pet can be dropped off and picked up at the end of the event. In some cases other volunteers will even help transport animals to and from events depending on location.
